Sure, 2008 was one heck of a test of our mettle!  But, listening to NPR this morning I was given this little tid bit of information:  Today marks the anniversary of Thomas Edison's "invention" of the lightbulb in 1879.  Well, actually, Edison did not invent the lightbulb, itself.  There were many men tinkering with that idea, starting around 1809.  But, what Edison did that the others could not was to invent a thermal regulator that made the light sustain itself for longer periods of time.  He went on to invent and patent even more unique and life-changing tools in the areas of electricity, printing, telegraphs, photographic film for moving picture machines, screen projection, voting machines -- just to name a few.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That is why we think Thomas Edison is so important in our orbit of creativity.  Not just for his inventions, but for his curiosity, inspiration and his drive to constantly strive to be better, invent better and improve upon ideas and inventions that may have been started by others. Their original sell sheets did not reflect a high-end design concept that would catch the eye of these prospects. We had done our research and we knew that this was a home with a lot of history, a very well respected non-profit organization and a sought after venue for weddings. Our task was to position The Lounsbury House as a Business-to-Business destination. Conveniently located in Fairfield County, CT, it could serve as the perfect setting for a wide range of off-site meetings for many corporations -- large and small -- that are headquartered in that region. Working with a very small budget, we concepted and designed an over- sized postcard mailer that beautifully showcased the property, detailed their important features and could be sent out economically and efficiently. The Lounsbury House is putting themselves on the map in the motion picture business, too, by becoming a sought after location for scouts.  The House was recently included in a scene for the new Disney release, &lt;em&gt;"College Road Trip"&lt;/em&gt; with Martin Lawrence. We are happy to see The Lounsbury House continue to "make history" with memorable events both off-screen and on.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;"As usual -- Orbit Creative has done it again! Ultimately, to convert a single ticket theatregoer into a season subscriber would be hitting the jackpot.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The results with the 2006-2007 materials were more than we could possibly dream of producing for our client. There is no better marketing relationship than one that allows us the freedom to apply our expertise and create materials that garner the level of excitement that comes from the anticipation of something new and then to have the "product" deliver. The season achieved one record breaker after another from the opening of &lt;em&gt;Grease &lt;/em&gt;to the production of &lt;em&gt;Oliver!&lt;/em&gt;, which set the record for highest grossing show in Fulton Theatre history to the mid-winter wonderment of Agatha Christie's &lt;em&gt;Mousetrap&lt;/em&gt;, which achieved highest grossing straight play in the Theatre's history.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, that allowed us the honor to be invited to create the 2007-2008 materials and the winning streak continued. The Fulton was the only theatre to have the rights to a professional production of &lt;em&gt;West Side Story&lt;/em&gt; in the U.S. for the 50th anniversary of its Broadway opening. The anticipation was running high and all the stars aligned for a sold out run. With the addition of the artistry and talents of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, the production was complete. The fall season continued with &lt;em&gt;Sherlock Holmes - The Final Adventure&lt;/em&gt;, which achieved a sales goal of the second highest straight play in Fulton Theatre history. The holiday season brought &lt;em&gt;Fiddler on the Roof,&lt;/em&gt; sold out crowds, and a front page story in the &lt;em&gt;New York Times&lt;/em&gt; Escapes section.
